2007 : Kunstparterre Collection Munich

Matthias Zinn, Kunstparterre e.V. showroom

The renowned Munich based collection Kunstparterre e.V. is showing works by the Berlin-based painter Matthias Zinn in his first solo exhibition in its private exhibition space in Nymphenburg. Zinn presents new works in which he intensively and systematically re-examines the medium of painting (following a larger series of works in which he used plastic foils instead of paint, most of which the artist later destroyed himself).

In his current works, Zinn consciously examines the autonomous options of formulation that result from the process of painting beyond any source such as photography, film or other media. His aim is to reconstruct what is seen or holistically perceived exclusively within the scope of the possibilities offered within the framework of the medium itself.
